There was a knock on the door and it was the postman with a large bag. He said that it was plants. I thanked him and thought that's early since my next delivery was in February.
To my shock, it was 5 Alstroemerias (Peruvian Lilies). They were ugly with their bare roots. They looked like spiders.
I don't remember ordering them. I then realised that I have 5 more shipments coming!! Bulbs and more bulbs and I think plants.
All I can think is I did take up the offer from a national newspaper. I honestly don't remember ordering them.
So I'll have to go back to the shop and buy more pots and more compost. There won't be any room in my small garden by time everything arrives and has to be planted.
So I planted the roots, 3 in one pot and 2 in another. One paper said to plant them horizontally. Strange. I just stuck the roots in the compost.
And why can't compost bags be lighter?
Oh, I just hope the summer will bring sun and lots of flowers for me.
