So I went to the gp yesterday and yes she said the I word, Insulin.
She can't give me a prescription so I had to call the diabetes nurse who will arrange things. When I called the hospital the switchboard didn't answer twice, on the 3rd time I got lucky. Then, sod's law, I got the answer machine.
I called again today and then the D nurse got back to arrange a meeting on Tuesday morning.
She was a tad surprised that the gp didn't suggest other meds instead of just saying Insulin.
We'll see.
Tomorrow is a cat show in town which I might go to see. Maine Coons will be there.
Sunday I go at 6:30am to Golders Green to get my Passover things.

Introduction
I was born in Philly, south Philly to be exact and then when I was 2 my parents upped and moved to the sticks, as one of my cousins would constantly tell me for years, south Jersey.
There I remained until I got itchy feet.
When I was 17 my paternal granfdather took me to Israel for a 10 day tour with the Jewish War Veterns. That was it. When I was 20 and graduated from the local community college I did a year at Tel Aviv University.
Came back to the states and couldn't settle down so went back to Israel as counselor for a Jewish youth group for 7 weeks. Then I got home, still couldn't settle and went back in 1974 to learn Hebrew on a kibbutz Ulpan.
I moved kibbutzim and then when I was there, over the hill came my Prince Charming on a bike with a friend of his. He was one of 4 California lads cycling around the world. We fell in love.
Sadly he was killed in a road accident in 1975.
I left Israel but swore that I would go back, which I did 6 months later as a member of a Garin. A Garin is a group of Jewish people who would go to the 'parent' kibbutz to learn Hebrew and to discover what we would be good at and then 9 months later go down to our permanant kibbutz.
I never got to that kibbutz. I met another man, English, and I left the kibbutz in 1977 to marry him in England. We had 2 children and then divorced.
So I now live alone except for my cat and my son who moved back in with me several months ago.
Back in 1969 I was diagnosed with ibs. Then in 1999 I was dx with cervical spondalyosis with arthritis in my spine (it's now everywhere) and then in 2004 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. *sigh*
Tomorrow I go to my gp to see if she wants me to go onto insulin. I have been on oral meds but they don't seem to be doing the trick anymore. :( I am hoping that she does say insulin, I feel horrible and hope that insulin can make me feel better.
